Transportation in Caribbean
Due to the fact that the Caribbean is composed of islands, the only two ways to get there are either by airplane or by boat. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, and as such it depends on what aspects appeal more to you.
Getting there is easy. Deciding which island you want to go to won’t be!
Both ways are generally hassle free, and our Caribbean Transportation Guide will help you decide. More information specific to the islands can be found by going to the Caribbean Destination Guides, choosing which island you wish to visit, and checking out the transportation page at that island's site.
Caribbean Transportation Guide
Air
Travelling by air is the easiest and quickest way of getting to the Caribbean. Most major airline carriers have regular flights to the Caribbean, which means flying from anywhere around the world is relatively straightforward, especially North America and Europe, which have excellent direct routes. Flights can vary quite dramatically in price due to factors such as distance, season and regularity of flights from your departure point.
Sea
The other way to get there is a journey by sea. Leisurely ocean cruises to the Caribbean abound. There are almost two dozen cruise liners offering various packages, from family friendly cruises to luxury liners, or even romantic "Love Boat" style trips.
